Pakistan Navy Rescues 6 Indians and 1 Indonesian Crew Members in Arabian Sea

According to the military’s media wing on May 05, 2026, the Pakistan Navy quickly responded to an emergency call from an Indian vessel MV Gautam in the Arabian Sea, successfully rescuing 6 Indians and 1 Indonesian crew member.

While traveling from Oman to India, the ship experienced a serious technical issue that left it stuck at sea.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Navy showed alertness and dedication to international maritime commitments by quickly responding to the alert from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Mumbai and deployed PMSA Ship Kashmir. The crew received food, medical attention, and technical support to help restore vital systems and guarantee their safety.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan Navy for its successful and timely rescue operation in the Arabian Sea. He said that, the Pakistan Navy has once again shown a high level of professionalism and humanitarian dedication, and it has fulfilled its duty as a responsible state at the global level.

He further added that, the Pakistan Navy is always ready to handle any kind of emergency situation.
