Sri Lanka Announces Removal of Visa Fees for Citizens of 40 Countries, Including Pakistan

Sri Lanka has announced that travelers from 40 countries, including Pakistan, will no longer be required to pay a visa fee to enter Sri Lanka.

According to reports, citizens of these countries will now be able to receive a free Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for Sri Lanka, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 30 days.

The countries eligible for the visa fee relief include Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

According to Sri Lanka’s Immigration Department, although the visa fee has been removed, it will still be mandatory for citizens of these countries to obtain and receive approval for an ETA before traveling.
