Good News for Pakistanis: Normal Passports Now Issued in 14 Days Instead of 21

Federal Secretary Interior, DG Passport & Immigration, and other relevant officials attended a meeting led by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that the issuance time for normal passports across the country has been reduced from 21 to 14 days. He also announced that passport offices will go completely cashless and actions will be taken to improve the system, such as home delivery of passports.

He stated that eliminating cash payments would help in ending the agent mafia while also enhancing facilitation to the public. He instructed the staff to develop this fully cashless system in passport offices within 15 days.

During the meeting, the Interior Minister additionally instructed staff to speed up work on the issuance of business passports.
