WhatsApp is introducing a new change to its messaging tab, which will make the user experience more similar to Instagram. Like Instagram Stories, the status updates of the contacts will now show up at the top of the main or chat tab.
Whenever the app will be opened, users will see three contacts’ status updates in a new layout above the chats. To view more statuses, users will be able to scroll down to see the full list. However, this update does not mean the removal of the dedicated Status tab. The purpose of this new update is to provide quicker access to updates.
According to a report, this feature is under testing in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices and according to the feedback from the beta users, the design will be improved further before being progressively made available to all users in the upcoming months.
