Upon the victory over Afghanistan in the final of the 2026 Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament in the Maldives, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Pakistani football team, coaches, and management.
In his post shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister said that this historic victory has brought pride and joy to the entire nation and he wished the talented players continued success in the future.
He appreciated the Pakistani football team for their exceptional play, determination, and teamwork, which helped the nation gain international recognition.
The Prime Minister added that this is Pakistan’s first official international football tournament title, which is a significant milestone for sports promotion and young athletes across the country.
He also expressed confidence that the national football team will continue to work hard while raising the Pakistani flag high.
