According to media reports, Elon Musk’s company SpaceX has offered $60 billion to acquire Cursor — an AI-powered code editing tool, developed by Sualeh Asif with his three colleagues from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Reports reveal that the full acquisition value of Cursor is stated to be $60 billion, while the partnership stake is estimated at $10 billion.

Sualeh Asif, along with the other three co-founders of Cursor—all under the age of 30—has recently gained worldwide recognition. He has also reportedly secured a rank on the Forbes Billionaires List, bringing pride to Pakistan on the global stage.

Cursor has quickly emerged as one of the fastest-growing technology startups in the AI industry. The platform is experiencing rapid growth in both users and revenue.

In November 2025, Global venture capital firms Accel and Coatue Management sponsored Cursor’s $2.3 billion fundraising. After that, the company’s valuation jumped up to $29.3 billion, making it one of the most well-known AI startups in the world. It is also funded by major investors such as OpenAI, Andreessen Horowitz, and Google.

Cursor claims that the company’s yearly earnings have exceeded $1 billion. Currently, over 50,000 big technological companies, like Nvidia, Adobe, Uber, and Shopify, use the platform for creating and modifying code, and millions of software developers use it.

Social media users have widely appreciated his achievement. Umar Saif, a Pakistani computer scientist and academic, shared a post on X, stating that such individuals should be role models for Pakistani youth — those who rise through their own hard work, skill, and talent rather than relying on inherited wealth.

Sualeh Asif has excelled academically as well. From 2016 to 2018, he competed for Pakistan in the International Mathematics Olympiad. He started an AI-based search engine startup while attending MIT, demonstrating his early entrepreneurial spirit and keen interest in technology. He is currently serving as Chief Product Officer at Anysphere.

This accomplishment demonstrates both Pakistan’s expanding potential in the global technology industry and the huge power of artificial intelligence to quickly generate significant financial and creative opportunities.
