Chairman Karachi Board Bans Removal of Burqa at Examination Centers

The Chairman of the Karachi Matric Board, Ghulam Hussain, has issued the guidelines that during the 9th and 10th grade examinations, female students will not be asked to remove their burqas at examination centers.

In the instructions issued by the Chairman, it was stated that no complaints of cheating have been received from girls’ examination centers; therefore, under any circumstances, no female students should be asked to take off their burqas, abayas or veil at any exam center.

The Chairman further warned that strict action will be taken if any complaint is received about forcing students to remove their burqas.

He also added that male invigilators will not be appointed at girls’ examination centers.
