Attaullah Tarar, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, has said that taxes on the purchase and sale of 5 and 10 marla houses will be significantly reduced.
During a joint press conference, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani stated that the 2026–2027 fiscal budget is focused on public relief, which includes lowering taxes on the purchase and sale of small houses.
According to Atta Tarar, the housing sector is connected to 12 major industries, all of which have received relief from the government. He claims that under the “Prime Minister Apna Ghar Scheme,” the federal government has so far disbursed Rs. 90 billion to support the housing and real estate sector and help in the provision of basic housing for the general population.
He added that in order to promote business activities, the super tax was eliminated for all exporters. Overall, this budget represents the start of relief and prosperity, he continued, adding that a rise in exports will strengthen foreign exchange reserves.
Speaking about the nation’s economic circumstances, Attaullah Tarar stated that the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) was able to stabilize the economy in accordance with Nawaz Sharif’s vision at a time when Pakistan was on the edge of default and economic indicators were very poor.
In response to inquiries about the Benazir Income Support Program, Atta Tarar stated that Rs. 838 billion has been set aside for the initiative, which benefits over 10 million families through female recipients.
He said that the government was experiencing a serious economic crisis when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took office, but that the economy was on the road to stability thanks to persistent efforts.
He claims that the nation is moving toward development and prosperity as a result of the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister, and the Field Marshal working together.
