In order to give consumers convenience, all electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) have released the new design for electricity bills nationwide, which presents electricity consumption, billing information, and payment-related information in a much simpler way, in accordance with Ministry of Energy instructions.
Officials claim that all of the information in the new format has been organized in a clear and integrated way so that consumers are able to quickly understand their electricity usage, payable amount, due date, and other details.
According to the Power Division, the previous bill format has been totally altered because of its complicated layout, technical language, and unnecessary information, which made it difficult for ordinary consumers.
Consumers from all segments of society will find the bill easier to read because of the new format’s reduction of visual complexity. The act also includes a QR code that enables users to quickly access further information and digital services. The initiative seeks to improve the billing system’s organization, clarity, and usability.
The new design was created based on recommendations from consumers and stakeholders, officials added that and the reform efforts to increase efficiency and transparency in the power sector will continue in the future.
