Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir called on the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad on April 9, 2026.

The notables reviewed the progress of Pakistan’s mediatory efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region. The two leaders emphasized the necessity for everyone to uphold peace and a ceasefire while expressing pleasure with the de-escalation that has been accomplished thus far.

The leadership reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to assisting all parties in reaching a peacefully negotiated settlement and expressed gratitude for the moderation shown by both sides. The PM wished the parties engaged in the process success and praised their dedication to achieving peace.

Additionally, he extended his invitation to the arriving delegations and gave them his word that Pakistan would provide them the utmost care and support.
